ABOUT THE CHURCH

History of our Church On May 6, 2007, through the efforts of Rev. Cardinal Denton and Rev. Bernard Dixon, House of Blessings Church of God was started in a house at 1012 Greenwood Avenue, Trenton, New Jersey. It was during a prayer meeting that the name of the church was divinely revealed from the scripture Deuteronomy 11:29 (K.J.V) -"And it shall come to pass, when the Lord thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shall put the blessings upon Mount Gerizim"; Gerizim means House of Blessings. Nine people were divinely called to start this work and in our first service (5/6/07), the Lord blessed us with a family of 12, making the total attendance 24.

In 2008, the church had its first baptismal service with two candidates at the New Hope Church of God, East Windsor Campus. The church then relocated in spring of 2009 to its current location at 107 South Olden Avenue in Trenton (formerly the Olden Theatre). The Lord continued to bless us and souls were added to the church daily such as to be saved. During this time, several auxiliaries were organized; namely, Pastor’s Council, Ladies Ministry, Men’s Fellowship, Youth and Christian Education Department, Music Department, Evangelism Committee, Food and Kitchen team and Public Relations team.

After 41 years of Pastoral ministry and seven years of laying the foundation for House of Blessings, Bishop Cardinal Denton went home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2014. A month later, the church smoothly transitioned under the new leadership of Rev. Ralston Denton, who was appointed and installed as the Senior Pastor. Having been a Mission for several years, House of Blessings officially became organized under the Church of God on August 3, 2016, with Bishop A. Steve Smith as the Administrative Bishop and Bishop Phillip Bonaparte as District Overseer. As the Lord has commissioned us, we are committed to the preaching and teaching of the Word of God & the development of those who accept the Gospel to their full spiritual potential. To date we can truly say, we have come this far by prayer and faith, leaning on the Lord. To God be the Glory!
